JOBS & CAREERS

Thanks for your interest in working for Scott Cinemas! Fancy being part of a growing business where no two days are the same? Here, we advertise available positions that may arise in our cinemas or head office. All applications require submission of a current CV. Please note that while cinemas may hold CV's for front of house positions, we do not accept speculative applications for cinema managers or technicians.

Our Roles

Front of House

Our uniformed front of house assistants are responsible for delivering exceptional customer service at all times. As a front of house assistant, you will be trained in all areas of general service, including - screen attendance, ticket sales, refreshment sales, bar sales and auditoria cleaning. We accept applications from anyone over the age of 16, except where sole alcohol sales are part of your job, where you must be over 18. If you're 16 or 17, you'll need your parents permission. You will need to be flexible - as we don't close up until late in the evening, presentable, and legally entitled to work in the UK.

Cinema Managers

Cinema Managers are responsible for the complete operation of a cinema. No two days are ever the same, and it's your responsibility to make sure each and every customer has the best possible experience, as well as making sure your cinema operates safely and in compliance with all head office and local authority requirements. You will have the opportunity to undertake off-site training before you take up your post, and we offer competitive salaries.

Duty / Assistant Managers

Assistant Managers should be able to deputise for the manager in all areas concerning the operation of the cinema. You will be running the cinema on a day to day basis, and are responsible for everything that happens in the building on your shift.

Technicians

Technicians are responsible for the technical upkeep of the cinemas. This means you are responsible for making sure we have a picture on the screen, and that presentation of feature films is nothing less than perfect. You'll also be taking care of the cinema in areas such as lamping up. Please note that we rarely have vacancies for technicians - we have an extremely low turnover rate.

Other roles - we often advertise for cleaners and supervisors, and these roles are very specific to the cinema concerned, so you can read more about them when advertised below. All of our job roles are treated as highly essential - the good correct operation of a cinema relies on all departments working well together. Whether you're a manager or a cleaner, each and every person is equally vital to our operation.

We give all of our staff free cinema tickets. You may also be able to watch new releases before they are released. We offer 28 days annual leave per year, automatic enrolment to a pension scheme, and above all - a dynamic and fun working environment.

Apprenticeships

The cinema industry — like any other — relies on the talent and capabilities of all who work within in it. While individual companies within the sector have a strong track record of attracting and retaining talent, there is always of course more that can be done, not least in ensuring greater consistency across the industry..

In association with the UKCA, we are able to offer NVQ Lifetime Training apprenticeships for all employees over the age of 16, who work an average of 16 hours per week or more. There is a Cinema Operatives apprenticeship, as well as further courses for Line Managers, Cinema Managers, and those wanting to progress further within the industry. Some conditions apply, and opportunities can be discussed with your line manager at the commencement of your employment.
