Sidmouth Eco Hub is an exciting collaboration between Climate Awareness Partnership Sidmouth (CAPS) and Sidmouth Town Council. During its six-month trial, the Eco Hub is hosting monthly events designed to bring our community together to talk about practical ways we can become informed about climate change and reduce our carbon footprint.
One of the ways we’re doing this is through film, and we’re delighted to be hosting two inspiring screenings at the Radway Cinema, Sidmouth. These films highlight real-world examples of how people are making a difference:
• March 2nd, 2025: By popular demand, we’re bringing back Six Inches of Soil, a powerful documentary that highlights the potential of regenerative farming to re-store soil health and combat climate change. Stay after for a Q&A with local farmers & experts: (Fresh & Green Vegetables), Andy Gray (Elston Farm), and Harriet Bell (Riverford Organic Farmers).
• June 8th, 2025: We’ll be screening Wilding, inspired by Isabella Tree’s bestsel-ling book. This moving film chronicles the rewilding journey of a formerly inten-sively farmed estate, showing how nature can rebound when given the chance. Stay after for a Q&A with local farmers & experts: Vicky McLachlan (Rewilder) and Mish Kennaway (Rewilder, Escot House)
The discussions after the screenings, with local experts, will give you the opportunity to dive deeper into the themes and explore how we can apply these ideas in our own community.
We are also hosting monthly discussions on the following topics:

Here's what's coming up from the Sidmouth Eco Hub:
Six Inches of Soil
15, 123m. Six Inches of Soil follows the inspiring story of British farmers standing up against the industrial food system and transforming the way they produce food - to heal the soil, benefit our health and provide for local communities.
The film follows the highs and lows of three new farmers on their regenerative journey: Anna Jackson, a Lincolnshire 11th generation arable and sheep farmer; Adrienne Gordon, a Cambridgeshire small-scale vegetable farmer; and Ben Thomas, who rears pasture fed beef livestock in Cornwall.
As the trio of young farmers strive to adopt regenerative practices and create viable businesses, they meet seasoned mentors who help them on their journey. They are joined by other experts providing wisdom and solutions from a growing movement of people who are dedicated to changing the trajectory for food, farming and the planet.
Showing Sunday 2nd March, 7.00pm
Wilding
PG, 75m. Knepp is a beacon of hope for England’s wildlife. When Isabella and her husband inherited the estate to farm, they recognised how sick the land was. But a groundbreaking radical experiment has been nothing short of transformative. Now it’s a place where mussel-diving pigs, storks and butterflies find sanctuary, and where thriving flora and a vast array of animals have taken back the land. This is a charming, hopeful and necessary story of ecological regeneration.
